The Church of Jesus was founded around 33 A.D.! Wiregrass Church was originally planted as First Baptist Church of New Tampa in 1995. Land was purchased and the building on County Line Rd. was constructed in 1998.  The church purchased Meadow Pointe Preschool Academy in 2007.  The revitalization and relaunch of the church led to renaming the fellowship to Wiregrass Church in 2020.  Our desire as a church family is for this campus to be one of many locations as we multiply disciples for the glory of God.  Missionaries began deploying from the church in 2017 to Cuba and have continued to return to the island on numerous occasions since then.  We continue to look for God's directions as we take the Gospel wherever He leads-to our neighbors and the nations.

We desire to be a local church who declares the priority of the Good News of Jesus for every need in life and eternity. We look to all of Scripture as a blueprint for the church and to the Holy Spirit for the power to live out what we are called to do. Ephesians 4:10-16

While we who are in Christ are ultimately heading to Heaven, we realize the Lord has work for us to accomplish in His power while we are here, according to Ephesians 2:10. We want to continue to reach all people with the Good News of Jesus and disciple them to become mature and multiplying disciples with the spiritual gifts given to them by the Holy Spirit. When believers are mentored to use their spiritual gifts in humble, Spirit led ways according to Scripture, the Kingdom of God will grow-locally and globally.  We want to train more missionaries, pastors, teachers, moms, dads, singles, students, hospitality leaders, business people, tradespeople, medical professionals, first responders, military personnel, and all believers to expand the footprint of the Kingdom.
